Happy New Year

Hello Beautiful Soul, Happy New Year to you

Wow! Can you actually believe we are in 2023? I truly hope the holiday season and Christmas served you well. How are you feeling about this New Year?

Many of us will feel the steady, relentless push and pressure, especially from social media and the TV, to begin again in January. New Year, New You sound familiar? In actual fact, we are at the mere beginnings of winter. This really is (and should be) a time for calm stillness and reflection.

In my experience, my greatest ‘aha’ moments and lessons learned are when I surrender to the peace and quiet, to the stillness and allow myself to go within.

If we pile the pressure on ourselves, to reinvent or to act upon the latest trend, instead of listening to what we really need during the seasons of our lives, it can actually make transitions or changes so much harder. Our bodies, minds and our souls are actually longing for rest.

We are forcing ourselves energetically outwards. Searching for the next new miracle instead of tending to our root system, which wants to be deeply embedded into the dark, frozen Earth, soaking up all of the nutrients from the past year. Which in turn, replenishes and feeds us from the soul, roots, body, mind and spirit.

All ready to bear the new fruits of our labour and allowing these, when ready, to grow and flourish into our lives. Following this natural ebb and flow of energy makes our lives so much easier. If we surrender to this deep knowing, there is a way and all we need to do is let go and trust.

As I write this, I have a beautiful rose tea elixir with a clear quartz tumbled crystal in it for clarity, and on the little teabag it says:

“your values are magnetically attracting things”

This wonderful little phrase resonates with me so much as I chose three words (values) to carry through 2023. That is the only job I gave myself on New Year’s Day – picking three little words. And it was enough too.

My words are:

  • Surrender
  • Kindness
  • Courage

Just today, exactly as my yogi tea bag label showed me, I have been able to surrender deeply in my morning meditation. Everywhere I look I see great kindness too and I am reminded all the time that courage doesn’t need to be for a huge statement, decision or life changer. Not at all. It can be witnessed in the small, seemingly insignificant but actually really brave choices that we make in the tiny moments of our day to day lives.

I also have with me a Faden Quartz Crystal with a growth line down the centre, and yes, this irony is not lost on me. I have been working with it lately for my own inner growth, nothing too strenuous, I’ve just been going within. Tending deep into my soul in preparation for new growth in early spring.

I am of course struggling with my own feelings of ‘rush, rush and do, do’ but I am trying to just observe these, unhook from the trappings of them and allow myself to fall back into the teachings that softly whisper from my soul.

Over the next few weeks, by taking this time to go deep and work within, you just may be able to start to overcome some of the biggest obstacles in your life. Ones that you believed were happening to you rather than being for you to learn from or remember and thus preventing you from growth.

Deep hey!

On that hefty note I shall leave you with this beautiful quote to muse on:

“we often need to get out of alignment with the rest of the world to get back into alignment with ourselves”

Love you deeply

Vikki
